Level 1

Prerequisite: Comfortable in shallow water and able to submerge (Class size: 3 - 5 swimmers)
Objectives: Beginner: Kicking & Early Freestyle/Breathing

Build confidence: submersion, breathing pattern and floating

Develop flutter kick using kick boards and wall support

Introduce early freestyle: front glide, foundational arm movement

Level 2
​
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 1, sound flutter kick, comfort with floating (Class size: 3 - 5 swimmers)
Objectives: Freestyle & Backstroke Introduction

Refine flutter kick (body alignment & continuity)

Progress freestyle: coordinated strokes, rhythmic breathing

Introduce backstroke: supine kicking, arm alternation, streamlined body position
Key Skills:

Front and back flutter kick with kick board

Freestyle swim using kick board

Alternating arm backstroke with rhythmic breathing

Introduction to bilateral rollout/backstroke positioning

Level 3

Prerequisite: Competent freestyle and backstroke over 15–25 m (Class size: 5 - 7 swimmers)
Objectives: Breaststroke Introduction & Stroke Refinement

Strengthen freestyle and backstroke endurance and technique

Introduce breaststroke: whip kick, arm pull, glide timing
Key Skills:

Breaststroke pull-kick-glide sequence (surface drills)

Continual stroke development and progression across existing strokes

Prerequisite: Sound foundation of freestyle, backstroke and basic breaststroke timing (Class size: 5 - 7 swimmers)
Objectives: Butterfly Introduction & Multi-Stroke Integration

Advance freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke technique

Introduce butterfly: dolphin kick, body undulation, pull recovery
Key Skills:

Dolphin kick drills (vertical, streamline)

Land/body-unbar drills leading to in-water fly

One-arm butterfly progression to full stroke

Level 5

Prerequisite: Confident in all four strokes (Class size: 5 - 10 swimmers)
Objectives: Pre‑Squad / Squad Prep

Refine and build endurance in all four strokes

Introduce technical skills: dive starts (platform/side start), turns (flip & open), underwater dolphin kick

Begin speed and interval training
Key Skills:

Underwater: Streamlined dolphin kick off the wall (10–15 m)

Starts: Side‑dives or block dives with streamlined entry

Turns:

Freestyle/backstroke flip-turns.

Breaststroke/fly open turns with push-off & streamline.
